Manhattan's Largest Rooftop Bar, Doubles Number of Outdoor Heaters and adds New Red Robes

It would seem 230 FIFTH owner Steven Greenberg was prescient when he decided to further winterize his 15,000 square foot rooftop garden high above Manhattan.

Already New York City's most winter ready outdoor space - high altitude or otherwise - 230 FIFTH, Manhattan's largest rooftop bar, has doubled its cold weather coping capacity with the installation of 50 new high-powered heaters to the 50 already installed, bringing a toasty warmth across 6,000 square feet of 230 FIFTH's 15,000 sq ft rooftop garden.

In addition to increasing the number of heaters to 100, Greenberg has also doubled 230 FIFTH's inventory of its snuggle-inducing red hooded robes to more than 1000, along with that of the voluminous blankets, which are also available for complimentary use by those who relish cold weather rooftop reveling.

Travelers from across the globe and locals alike seeking a novel New York City experience have been undaunted by the snow and below normal temps, can don the robes and sip hot cocktails while savoring the stunning 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline.

As a quaffable complement to the 230 FIFTH's low Fahrenheit persona and to further warm up the view-seeking revelers, a list of 17 "Hot, Hot Winter Imbibes" is available, some of which offer a moderate caffeine jolt.

Witness the Triple Hot Chocolate consisting of hot chocolate, Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur and Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur or the 'Wired' Quintuple Espresso made by adding Three Olives 'Triple Shot' Espresso Vodka to a freshly made double espresso.

Other steamy cocktails include those made with a variety of hot fresh fruit ciders such as the Hot Pear Cider with Grey Goose Poire Vodka and Hot Peach Cider with Absolut Apeach Vodka.

Non-alcoholic hot imbibes are available as well.

Alcoholic or not, all of 230 FIFTH's hot cocktails are presented in large hand-warming 18 ounce mugs and are available both outside and inside the 8,000 square foot indoor Penthouse Lounge. From either, the garden or the lounge, the 360 degree panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline are unrivaled.

Located on Fifth Avenue between 26th and 27th Streets in the historic and increasingly chic Flatiron District neighborhood of Manhattan, 230 FIFTH is open daily from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. For more information, visit www.230-fifth.com or call (212) 725-4300.
